Holy Holidays

Yesterday was Halloween.
At the end of the month comes Thanksgiving.
About 2 months from now comes Christmas.  So please explain to me why all the stores are playing christmas music already?! Banana talk if you tell me.  But, I like it.

This year I am all about the D.I.Y Christmas so when my sister(s) suggested the other day that we make each other gifts for the holidays I was excited.  I will not lie, I may or may not have made their gifts today... :)  I spent the day perusing through JoAnns, Goodwill, Home Depot, and Target for supplies and let's just say I am happy with the results.
(P.S If you are attracted to the [wood]crafty, scruffy, and tough kinda guy Home Depot in the afternoon should be your happy hour.)

My conference that I mentioned the other day was nice. I got to meet a lot of big wigs of North Carolina special education from around the state and learned a lot of information about special education.  Stuff I wish I had learned from my expensive college career and not a $35 conference.

Time to go do some homework.  Nothing like a group collab. to kick of the beginning of the end.

To make things a little more exciting I will leave you all with my cat in the bag:
Back story-my cat Chico has a super weird obsession with bags of all sorts; plastic, paper, backpacks, purses, garbage, and even boxes.

For example: Chico in the bag from a comforter.  She sat there for about an hour.

Catch yah on the flip side!

Halloweeennnn!

It's HALLOWEEN!  Normally this would without a doubt mean pumpkin oats or pumpkin something this morning.  However, silly me completely forgot and jumped at the opportunity to have some Chunky Monkey Oats.  As always they were delish.  I am a sucker for some oatmeal, peanut butter, chocolate chips, and bananas.  4 of my favorite foods in one bowl. I am sold.

In my last post I had discussed my heart break over not finding any canned pumpkin in the grocery stories here in Greensboro.  Since then my fabulous mother sent me not one but two 3 pound cans.  That was about a week ago.  I have eaten one already and am ready to crack open the second.

Foods made with the pumpkin included: oatmeal, pancakes, muffins, and peanut butter pumpkin soup. Yum.

Here's some of my pancakes:  1 was topped with nutella, 1 with crunchy peanut butter, and 1 with plain peanut butter.  SO good.  I had these a bunch and want some more.

So, school is still going strong.  Still can't decide what I want to do with my life post graduation but I am not going to fret over that right now.   Today I am attending a conference all about Exceptional Children where I get to learn about how to incorporate and educate students with special needs.  I am excited to learn about all the different learning tools and methods.

Another thing I am excited about is that I have started my christmas shopping. What?! Who am I?!  I've decided that with my financial status as it is (going up and down and up and down) it is best to spread out my shopping as to not put a strain on my finances come christmas when I go home.

Anywho, off to go listen to Incendiary on ITunes (good book so far) and to finish getting ready to head off to the conference.

Catch yall on the flip side!  (Hopefully with a new recipe!!)
